Corporate Accountability Week of Action

Unite for climate justice, racial equity, and worker’s rights!

During the week of February 14, MN350, along with a local coalition of racial and economic justice groups, hosted a series of actions calling on U.S. Bank to address current business practices that threaten our communities, water, and climate.

Over the prior months, community members pledged to move their money from U.S. Bank if they failed to meet with us by Valentine’s Day, Feb 14.  Make your Pledge TODAY to Break Up with U.S. Bank  and join the Week of Action February 16-21 to show U.S. Bank we’re serious about climate action, fair lending practices, and racial equity in Minnesota.

Learn more about our U.S. Bank campaign and the power of moving money to address climate change at our MN350 Community Meeting, Tuesday, Feb 9th at 6:30pm at Van Cleve Park. RSVP and spread the word here. Here are the highlights, with details below:

  • Feb 16 – Break Up with U.S. Bank Action and Press Conference
  • Feb 18 – Unity Action with Minnesotans for a Fair Economy
  • Feb 21 – The Whole Creation: A Faith Summit on the Environment and the Economy

920709_1009995299058965_4378376634705958380_oBusiness as usual in Minnesota has led us to the worst racial disparities in the country. Minnesota’s largest corporations steal wealth from communities of color when they pay poverty wages, don’t invest in our schools and pollute our environment.

Next Thursday, February 18th, hundreds of Minnesotans will come together in downtown Minneapolis through the Minnesotans for a Fair Economy coalition to send a clear message to the corporate elite: no more business as usual!

We need you there.

We’ll be meeting in downtown at 9th and Nicollet at 7am. It’s time to send a clear message to Minnesota’s corporations that they need to do their fair share and invest in communities of color.

The Whole Creation: A Faith Summit on the Environment and the Economy

February 21, 2:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Location: St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 4741 Bald Eagle Avenue, White Bear Lake 55110

Join our partner ISAIAH and 500 people of faith as we call on Xcel Energy and our representatives to build an economy of inclusion and create a path for every person in our state to participate in the clean energy economy.

Top executives from Xcel Energy have been invited to join us for this summit. In addition, legislators from Columbia Heights, New Brighton, Shorewood, White Bear Lake, Lino Lakes, Maplewood, and Woodbury have all been invited to attend, along with mayors and members of local city councils.

RSVP HERE — when you RSVP, please name MN350 where they ask for congregation (feel free to put your congregation in addition if you have one).

This is a powerful opportunity to come together as Minnesotans to change the story of our economy — from unchecked profit and consumption to one that prioritizes the health and dignity of people and well-being of Mother Earth.

We look forward to standing with you for a healthier, more powerful and just Minnesota!
