Global Divestment Week – Divest & MNvest!

Minnesotans have long appreciated our state’s lakes, rivers, forests and farmlands, yet climate change threatens our state’s treasures through rising temperatures, extreme weather events, and degraded air and water quality. These climate impacts also threaten our economy, agriculture, and public health.

Yet individual Minnesotans can only do so much. Minnesota businesses and banks are profiting from investments that contribute to climate change and hurt our communities. For example, U.S. Bank invests in the fossil fuel industry, including providing financing for companies like Enbridge Energy, one of the companies behind the Dakota Access Pipeline. Minnesota businesses and banks should not profit from practices that hurt the things we love about our state.

Minnesota businesses and banks are in a unique position to help speed the transition to a renewable economy that supports our communities, our children, and our state. Help us call on Minnesota businesses and banks to divest from fossil fuels and invest in renewable energy and our communities.

Global Divestment Week is May 5-13!

Tell Minnesota businesses and banks that you want them to divest from fossil fuels and reinvest that money in projects that support a stable climate and healthy Minnesota communities.
