MN350 Community Meetings

Community Meeting and Vigil***Next Community Meeting is 6:30-8:30pm on Tuesday, November 10 at 2104 Stevens Ave, Minneapolis***

What is the Community Meeting?

The community meeting is an opportunity to learn what MN350 is all about: who we are, what we do and how we do it.  As an organization primarily run by volunteers, how we show up and catalyze a climate movement in Minnesota depends much upon who shows and the energy people bring.  This meeting provides the chance for you to get a foot in the door of the climate movement, to explore how you can engage your time and resources, to meet other folks working in the climate movement and for us to get to know you!

Who will be there?

All are welcome.  Typically the meeting is a combination of MN350 volunteer leadership and team members, staff, folks new to MN350 or new to the climate movement and more.  This meeting is designed to provide a space for new people to come and learn about MN350 and the broader climate movement and for those already working with MN350, to gather and welcome those showing up for the first time.

What can I expect?

For new members, you can expect to leave with lots of information about MN350 as well as the broader climate change movement, so you have the information you need to decide how you want to participate.  And, you can expect to meet people engaged, committed and passionate about addressing climate change.  You can expect a space that assumes best intentions and openness to your whole self.  You can expect an awareness of the despair and devastating reality of climate change as well as hope in the opportunity for change and vision of the world we want to live in.  You can expect richness in the diversity of why people are showing up to do this work.  And … you can expect laughter and delicious snacks.

How is the community meeting a tool for organizing?

MN350 is looking for ways to support and create templates for individuals and/or pre-existing groups to use in order to promote and support an expanding network of local groups engaged in the climate movement.  We are currently working on a community meeting toolkit and in a meeting template that can be modified according to the needs of the local groups.  If you are interested in learning more, are starting a group in your community or would like to use the template/toolkit in your group, please contact
